Yesterday was very pleasantly spent with my son up on the hill and down in Mville. E helped him fix and install stuff, including his new star light. I worked on the yard, pruning the briar patch (roses gone wild) and other cleanup. Millions of flowers were out, including daffodils, hyacinths, irises, crocuses, forsythia, cherry, peach, quince, magnolia, etc. We got to hang out with D&V, who were cooking up yummy things in the kitchen. Even the normally snobby Tia the cat was unusually friendly.
Later, Avdi, E, and I went out for microbrews and snacks at The Bird and the Book, then Vienna for good coffee and music, then picked up some pizzas, and all hung out back at his house. We had a productive day and had fun while we were at it. With all the pressures and worries my son is facing, he still has time to graciously take us out on the town and share what he has with us. In case I don’t say it enough, I am very fortunate.
